Hacking

If puzzle solving and computer programming is your idea of fun, then the Techkriti Hacking Challenge provides you with the ideal playground. With problems relating to different aspects of internet and computer security that would appeal to an enthusiastic beginner as much as it would to a hardened pro, this promises to be a challenge unlike any other. And most importantly, the challenges here are meant for fun and do not encourage or support illegal hacking activities in ANY way!

 

Details:

  • The first round will consist of an encryption algorithm which will be hacked by the participants using DOS in th e stipulated time.
  • Participants clearing the first round will be eligible for the second where they will have to hack a file on a secured server.
  • The participants will be judged on the basis of the time taken to complete the task.

Rules:

  • A maximum of 2 participants are allowed in a team.
  • Max time for the first round will be 2 hrs.
  • A second round of 2 hrs for the qualifiers will be conducted.
  • A preliminary test may be conducted according to the number of entries.

Participants have to design a structure using STAAD Pro on the spot with in a limited time period.

  • There will be two participants in each team.

AutoBots

Autonomous Line Follower Robot

"Race is precisely of as much consequence for man as it is for any animal"

Autonomous Robots: An event in which the robot has full control and has to compete with others of its species to emerge as the winner... So tighten up their screws and solder their wires... because in the end, this doesn't have anything to do with any weak Robot..

 

Track Specifications:

The track will consist of a white surface 30 cm in width painted with a black line 3 cm wide in the center. The course will not consist of any obstacles. However, it may contain gentle or sharp corners which may be acute or obtuse but not right angled and there may also be gaps in the track i.e. at the white line, of length not more than 5 cm. The path will consist of different checkpoints which are to be crossed.
The track details will be disclosed at the time of the event.

 

Robot specification:
The robot dimensions must be no larger than 30 cm X 30 cm X 30 cm. It should have an in-built power supply lower than or equal to 24V. Points are also kept for the design and fabrication of the robot.

 

Scoring Specifications:
The scoring of the event will take place at various levels.

  • Based on the design of the robot
  • Based on the checkpoints
  • Based on the time taken

Rules:

  • The team should comprise of maximum of 3 members.
  • Scoring details will be available on the event day.
  • Programming facilities will not be available at the event venue.

TechVista

Technical Paper Presentation

Enlighten others with your thorough knowledge of different technical topics. Present your paper for technocrats and our audience. The scope of the papers should pertain to the following branches of engineering:

  • Electronics and Communications Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
  • Computer Engineering, Information Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering

General Format :

  • A soft copy of the abstract should be e-mailed before 14 March 2008 to cerebrum@techkriti.info.
  • The abstract should not exceed more than 300 words.
  • Out of the entries received, 10 finalists will be selected for the final round. The list of finalists will be displayed on website www.techkriti.info and informed through e-mail/phone within 5 days of the selection process.

Rules:

  • The number of authors for one paper is limited to 2. Only undergraduate or postgraduate students are allowed to participate.
  • The paper should be accompanied by a bona fide certificate of a senior faculty member and must include an address for communication, mail-id and mobile no.
  • Your contribution to the paper should be explicitly specified as an attachment. This shall prove vital in the selection of your paper for the final round.
  • The time allowed for presentation is 8-10 minutes followed by interjections and questionnaire.
  • All the entries should be sent by e-mail only.
  • Hard Copies are to be submitted at the time of presentation.
  • The decision of judges will be final and binding.

Participating team have to make the concrete mix design for a specified mixture where the workability of designed mix will be checked.

  • The design has to be made as per the I.S. design.
  • The slump of concrete will be the criteria for decision.

Rules:

  • Prelims for MechGems will be conducted on 18th of March 2008 in the morning at 10 AM in the seminar hall.
  • The event will begin with an aptitude test depending on number of entries.
  • The second round will be an audio visual round.
  • Search for the Spartans.. This is an overnight round in which the teams will be provided with a case study and they will have to give the solution the following day along with a small presentation.

This is the ultimate battlefield in the e-world and only a few shall reign supreme. A competition which shall test all the avenues of programming you can possibly imagine. So think out of the box, widen your horizons, give it all you've got & you might just crack the code at the end of the day.
This event is primarily targeted at students who know programming in C/C++ and have a grip on basic problem solving. To get higher scores, students will be expected to know more on specific fields.

 

Rules:

  • A team of maximum 2 participants will be allowed.
  • The languages to be used are C and C++ only.
  • Only one round will be there which will be the deciding round.

Details:

  • Participants will be presented with a certain no. of programs to be completed overnight.
  • Participants can use C/C++ as per their choice to do the coding..

An Expedition towards exceptional graphics

A mania can be replaced by passion, enthusiasm, craze or love for a specific thing. If Designing is your passion and CAD software is your tool, then we have just the right event for you to showcase your talent.

 

Rules:

Use your ability to build the sketch provided by using the tools of the software. Bonus marks will be given on the basis of logical commands used.

  • Aptitude test on the basis of number of entries.
  • 2-D  as well as 3-D designing may be done
  • Decision of the jury will be final.

The participant has to hunt the chest using the surveying instrument provided to them. The clues to chest will be provided on the spot.

  • Only given instruments will be used.

Micro Cracker

8051 Programming

Rules:

  • The number of participants is limited to two members in a team.
  • Prelims will be conducted based on the no. of entries which will be of 30 mins duration consisting of 45 questions and with no negative marking.
  • The syllabus for prelims will cover all the core subjects of electronics upto third year.
  • Microcontroller programming based only on 8051.
  • Two programs will be given on the spot and will be mandatory.
  • Simulation of program with interfacing of stepper motor, LCD, seven segment.
  • The code should be executable on kiel software and will be judged on the basis of best logic, design using minimum resources and length of coding.
  • The time allowed for completing the programming is 90 minutes.
